   Interesting 01 Jul 2010 10:13:41 am
Last night, while I lay awake on my bed thinking of things to help make me sleep and take my mind off all the annoying painful things my body does to me, I realised something.

I was thinking twin turbos on a ca18 and imagining how using two turbos could be best tuned to make the car more efficient. And then it occurred to me. Something really simple. So simple that any other car person already would have known this, but I didn't some how. A 4 stroke engine, has 4 cycles. A 4 cylinder engine, has each cycle going on at any given time. So there is constantly at least one piston making power in the engine.

I remember reading up on some sort of 3 cylinder piece of shit that came out last year. And I realised that this car couldn't have all cycles going at once. So clearly, it's a piece of shit for road use. And with this in mind, I could clearly see how low displacement high number of cylinder engines were more efficient. I've always known this but never really gave thought as to why.

And the roof of my mouth is swollen and killing me.

Safe, but shaken. 04 Dec 2009 08:39:07 pm
Some idiot just crashed up onto our front yard, narrowly missing both my cars, going straight between them and ploughing over one of those big fire hydrant covers completely ripping it out of the ground. Cant be stuffed going over the details, but the space between my cars, is practically the width of just one more car itself, with no room to open doors if you did park between them. I was lucky to be spared no damage. Quite frightening as I could have lost my project car.

   New Daily 21 Sep 2009 09:13:16 pm
Im buying my 3rd daily for this year. However, this one I am real keen on. Once again I've taken the Nissan path. Once again I've taken the ~1990 generation path. Once again, Im taking the Pulsar path. However this time, I'm getting an EXA. I believe this will be a good car. It has the same engine that I will be putting into my main Pulsar and it already has a little work done to it. Although I have to spend an entire day driving to get it, the price and the condition it is in will be worth it.

From the fying pan into the frying pan 30 Jul 2009 07:27:20 pm
I finaly had that bastard CV joint in the pulsar fixed. After over a year of that unsolicited child of a joint screeching and then putting my on edge when I HAD to drive the pulsar around after my daily broke and it was going through the motions of wanting to explode. Fixed. Oh but I wish it was really so.

Yes the joint is fixed, but there is a new problem. Control arms and associated friends are also about to explode on the same wheel. Although this isnt as important, I would prefer to not have things not working in the car. Like, the clutch pedal box needs a fix, I have to remember to put the fuel pump o ring back in, change those friggen useless wipers that I KNEW I shouldnt have bought but did anyway because I got 25% off, get my other cars engine replaced, and blah blah blah. I havn't dont an upgrade to this car in a while. Begining of this year was the brakes and that was it. Oh, I also chopped up the air box a bit. Made a big difference too. But meh. Whatever.

Another battle for our roads 21 Jul 2009 09:30:46 pm
A petition run by:
http://www.aussiespeedingfines.com/
is an attempt to remove cameras. I know for a fact that this will not work. Our Government bodies are hopeless. But I signed anyway, perhaps I still believe there is a chance it will work. Maybe, maybe not. Our government doesn't listen to the people. Or to anyone with brains.

The petition is at:

Speed DOES NOT KILL 05 Feb 2009 11:16:36 pm
"In USA, the government commissioned CATO Institute Report "Speed Does not Kill" (http://www.cato.org/pubs/pas/pa-346es.html) found that accidents actually decreased when speed limits where raised. In Norway (reported in Aftenposten 27 Mar 2003), accidents have been decreased where speed limits have been increased. In Italy, on implementing increased speed limits the Roads Minister Pietro Lunardi commented on 9 Feb 2003 "All psychologists and doctors say people who go faster, drive better and are more careful. Only 9% of fatal accidents were caused by speeding. Where it is safe to go faster, it is the right thing to do.""

This site is the proof I give to you. It has done all the research I have WANTED to do.

   Carless holiday 18 Dec 2008 10:46:24 pm
Well, now that work is at its end for this year, and the festive holidays are abound, I have NO decent car. The pulsar wont be ready till next year and Ive broken the skyline. So in the hopes to try to retain my lack of sanity this holiday by not having a car to hoon around in, Ive uploaded this in the hopes Ill feel better.
