Im off for a holiday for the next week so I'll be gone for a bit. But I leave the world with this wonderful gem I've wanted to put together for as LONG as I've been driving.

A little something that has been on my mind for a while but I never really could put it into words.
THE INTERNET HAS RUINED GAMING
Take any game. Read about the game on the internet, learn its secrets, learn its story, learn the puzzles, learn the locations of items and so on. What you are doing from this point on, isn't so much as PLAYING the game, but mearly following a reconstructed set of instructions.
But Anman, we only use guides and walk throughs when we get stuck. Isn't the point of a game to FIGURE OUT how to get around your situation? Figure out the puzzle, figure out how to kill the boss, figure out where the item is located (eg, exploring) and so on? On that note, if you do look at a walk through to find out how to get unstuck, what's to stop you from looking at another part? Or where the best weapon is, or how to beat another boss.
The urge is there to look at the internet to make the game easier. To beat the game without trying. Destroying the point of the game.
Final Fantasy games aside... |
