Going slow doesn't help
Going UNDER the speed limit, does not make you safer. Every one around you who is doing the speed limit, is at the same risk level as you are. That is what the speed limit is for. Oh wait? What was that? What is a speed limit? It is the safest maximum speed you should go on this road. Town planers and road authorities determine what the safest maximum speed is on a road taking into consideration the volume of traffic, number of intersections, stop signs, give way signs, traffic lights, kind of traffic, location of traffic, everything.
Signs. Can you read them?
A speed sign is the same as a stop sign. It is made by the same government body and placed by the same people. You obey a stop sign, for saftey reasons. Why cant you obey a speed sign? For saftey reasons? Such as:
One possible accident caused by going slow
Of course, since most people arent car enthusiests, chances of their cars brakes being in correct order are much lower. Besides, who ensures the saftey features of their plain family car are running perfectly as aposed to peoples personal project car that they love very much.
This also brings into consideration stopping distance. Now, every safe driver keeps adequette distance from the car in front of them depending on the speed they are traveling. So an argument here is, that perhaps should something happen, for example, a dog or small child to run onto the road, if you are going slower you will be able to brake faster and avoid an accident.
Your brakes and you
Two things to note here. If a dog or small child runs onto a road with cars on it, then obviously their parents are incompitant. Failing to teach a child the golden rule of roads. "ROAD IS FOR CAR." If a child runs in front of a car and gets hit and killed, then the driver of the car will be blasted by said childs parents and that driver will forever have a death over his/her head. Obviously, it wasnt his/her fault, but its still a very very traumatising experience.
